How We Created This: Italian furniture manufacturer, B-Line, invited us to develop a new bar stool.

The invitation came following a trip to Italy to investigate the high quality manufacturing and processes B-Line had developed over many years.

So impressed with the abilities of the automotive techniques of using moulded cold cure foam, we wanted to express the potential of the materials within our design investigations.

The seat is cast as a unified whole to the highest quality from self-finished moulded cold cure foam, which is offset with a contrasting textured colour to the inside of the Vortex.

The base is made of die-cast aluminium.
